We are super exited that you decided to take your first hot yoga or Inferno Hot Pilates class at Yoga Hell BROOKLYN.
A regular practice will change your life for the best! If you feel a little nervous, scared or intimidated no problem. Many people feel that way initially. Just don't let it stop you from coming to class.
This practice is designed for all levels and just in a few classes you'll feel right at home.
Here's a few tips to ensure you have the best possible experience:
Make sure you drink plenty of water throughout the day to hydrate yourself. Good hydration supports the healthy function of all of your body's systems, and it makes the heat feel comfortable rather than overwhelming. Come on empty stomach ( trust us on this!). Avoid eating 2-3 hours before class- yoga is always best practiced on an empty stomach. Some people however need to have something in their belly (such as a piece of fruit or an energy bar).
Please, arrive 15 minutes early for your first class. It will give us enough time for registration and orientation. Having enough of time credit will ensure a stress free and relaxed beginning to your life long Yoga practice.
This yoga and Inferno Hot Pilates is for everybody and for every body. To quote Bishnu Ghosh: "It's never too late, you're never too old, never too sick, to start from scratch". Come to class and with the guidance of your teacher approach every posture to the best of your ability and you will receive 100% benefits. (We promise!)
You do not need to get in shape before taking your first class. Getting in shape will happen to you with regular practice. Come take your first class, and then practice your classes as often as you possibly can, and you will quickly lose weight, get in shape and feel absolutely wonderful.
Dress in cool, comfortable clothes, like you are going to the beach. No long sleeves or pants please.
You will feel challenged by the yoga or Inferno Hot Pilates during class-everyone does! Do your best and listen to your body. Never be afraid to lay down if you need to. It is normal, especially when you first get started, to feel dizzy, nauseated or lightheaded. It is temporary. Respect these signals that your body is sending by backing off, and as your body acclimates, improves and detoxes, these sensations will disappear.
During class nobody will look at you or judge you. The teacher will guide and instruct you with compassion and respect. There is no need or reason to be self- conscious, everyone is focused on themselves and working too hard to even notice you.
Remember, everyone had their very first Hot Yoga class, and you are ready to rock yours too. Pick a convenient time and come to class as quickly as you can. Be ready to laugh a little, cry a bit and sweat a lot. We look forward to meeting you soon!
Bring a yoga mat, a large bath towel and drinking water, but don't worry if you forget anything. There's mats and towels for rent and plenty of water - we've got you covered!
